The reason we utilize Recirculating Deep Water Culture (RDWC) to grow our medicinal cannabis is rooted in our values. Simply put, RDWC provides our patients with the cleanest, most flavorful and safest cannabis possible. It is widely recognized that RDWC produces crops with optimized genetic expression, full spectrum terpenes and cannabinoids and ultimately the highest quality medicine possible.
Our commitment to our patients motivates us to cultivate the healthiest possible cannabis that aligns with our commitment to the environment. Being located in pristine Powell River, BC, we’re very connected with the nature that surrounds our cultivation facility. We take this responsibility very seriously and consider our environmental stewardship a core part of our mission.
RDWC has a number of benefits that preserve water quality while enhancing the healthfulness of the medicine we grow. A few of the benefits include:

Because RDWC requires very little fertilizer to grow healthy crops, we’re adding minimal inputs into our source water. As a result, the effluent (water going to reclaim) we produce is very clean.
Our plants grow in highly oxygenated, mineral rich water. This means we have all our grow medium come right from the faucet, with no associated transport carbon footprint. The depleting of peat bogs, or energy intensive rockwool manufacturing processes.
Water Culture grown crops are vital, reducing stress and the occurrence of pests often associated with poor crop health. By growing hydroponically, we’re able to produce a more healthful medicine for our patients.

Because our method of RDWC is “mediumless”, we require very limited replaceable components. Unlike growing in soil, rockwool or peat, the post harvest waste stream we produce is minimal, with very little being sent to landfills.
